Some of my favorite photographers participate in Two for Tuesday which is a diptych for the day. A diptych is two photos that when placed side by side tell a story, provide more detail or to show another perspective.
Here are a few diptychs from my flickr favorites.
And here is mine. It’s a 9×12 storyboard which I am planning to put in her bathroom.
I love her wrinkly toes! She runs around me every time she gets out of the bath screaming, “Wrinkly fingers! Wrinkly fingers and toes!”
I am back again with another Fix It Friday!
Here is the original photo.
Here is my edit with notes.
1. Levels Adjustment
2. Removed spots and dust from nose, head and corner of eye, and clothes.
3. Ran CoffeeShop’s Perfect Portrait Action
– Brightened slightly, Vivid color on the eyes, slight color pop all over, defined eyes and lips, slight dodge & burn on the edges. Flatten.
4. Ran Everyday Elements Florida Action
– Lowered the default contrast a little bit and made the Creamy Glow and Sunlight layers visible. Flatten.
5. Sharpened and Voila!
Head on over to I Heart Faces for more photo fun!
I had so much fun photographing this happy little one month old. He stayed awake the entire session, but that was fine! I ended up with some amazing eye contact and lots of adorable facial expressions. More from this session will be up soon.
A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to photograph these adorable kids. They were perfect little models, especially the oldest who was a natural. He made my job easy for me.
Thank you guys so much for coming out to the park with me! Enjoy your pictures!
Yesterday I went out and bought this new background I have been hearing about. I like it! Its paper and looks like an old barn wood floor.
To process this image I lightened it up a little in Adobe RAW.
-Then in PSE I used Coffeeshop’s Perfect Portrait action which I love. I used a 30% opacity feathered big brush to soften her skin slightly. I also lowered the opacity of the soften skin layer to about 60%. I used 50% opacity on the color pop layer. Removed the vignette. 30% opacity on the lighten layer.
After flattening I used the Color Correct Skin Tone which kept turning the image too orange. . I tried clicking all around her skin and the image but it was all too off. I ended up clicking on her cheek in the lightest spot. I had to take the temp down a couple clicks and left the color tone sliders alone.
Sharpened with the Unsharp mask and that is about all.
A little bit of product photography for you today. I made these for my children’s photography business. They are used as props for newborns.
To set up this shot I used a white presentation board as the background. They fold in two spots so I used one of the sides as a reflector to fix the shadows cast by window light. I was using natural light from a window on the right as my only light source. I had to stand on a chair and lean over the hats to get enough white space around the edges.
In Elements I edited the RAW file to correct the exposure and that is it. I will be posting a couple more from this photo shoot when I finish editing them.
It is Spring today! I went to the park with Brae to let her run around so she didn’t go crazy inside today. She wanted to play outside in the beautiful sunshine. We went to my new favorite portrait location, a park a mile away, with lots of great trees, lots of shade, and lots of backgrounds for great photos.
I processed this one in Adobe Raw then I used Coffeeshops Perfect Portrait action in Elements. I feel like it is a touch too warm. I cant decide.
